History

In the 1930s, the building was constructed as a Bauhaus-style apartment building and used as a residence for young, single men. Not only the strict house rules have changed since then: the building was converted to a hotel in the 1950s. In 2010, renovation work preserved much of its architectural substance. Today the Engimatt City & Garden Hotel represents a modern style of lodging with state-of-the-art infrastructure and family-type charm.

Our commitment

We are aware of the footprint of our operations. We want to minimise our impact as much as possible by carefully managing our resources. To this end, we keep a close eye on technological developments in the market and focus on environmentally-friendly work practices.

Sewage and waste

We consistently separate and recycle waste of all kinds and use water-protective cleaning agents and detergents. Our green facilities are irrigated exclusively with rainwater.

Energy consumption

We are committed to gradually reducing our consumption of energy. We have thus installed motion sensors, switched almost entirely to energy-saving LED lamps and equipped all guest rooms with a special energy-saving system.

Emissions

To keep our emissions as low as possible, we use the exhaust air of our cooling units to heat the buildings. Whenever possible, we source food from the region and keep delivery routes short.
